Check-in is where every system meets

A guest at the desk with a queue behind them is the wrong moment to learn the channel manager didn't sync.

  • The channel manager sells the last king room on two booking sites, and the second guest arrives at 11pm.
  • Keycards encoded at the desk stop working mid-stay, because the lock system drifted out of sync with the PMS.
  • Restaurant charges walk to the front desk on a paper slip, and some never reach the folio.
  • Wi-Fi gives out in the rooms furthest from the lobby, and that's the review the guest writes.
  • Card numbers taken over the phone for a reservation get written on a pad behind the desk.
